Okay, so I had some trouble with the old blog. Somehow I can't seem to remember the password and it meant I just never posted. So I'm going to link to the old one here and start over: http://kbandshort.blogspot.com/
I know, super ridiculous. I'm sure by the time you read this there will be some much better ways to manage passwords that have to constantly change. There actually are now, I just don't use them (queue eye roll, Moooom). I KNOW.
So you're done with second grade and at summer camp at Primrose. You're now a purple belt in taekwondo and in black belt club. It's pretty cool, you learn more advanced tricks and work with weapons (so far you've done swords, kamas and bo staff and the final one you'll do in a few months is nun chucks). You did a performance with the sword and kamas for your talent show this year and it was beyond amazing. They changed the song on you at the last minute (totally bogus because they said the words were questionable, but it was Sit Still, Look Pretty by Daya and is all girl empowerment and CERTAINLY wasn't worse than some of the other songs). You were upset, so I was nervous, but you came out and crushed it. Blonde ponytail flying, kids gasping, people still see the video and are stunned at how cool it was! Side note, I also just started taking taekwondo, which you say you love. I hope so, I don't want to step in on your thing!
Not much has changed for Mommy and Daddy. I'm still at Sabre, he's still contracting at FUNimation. The most notable thing in our lives is that Opie passed away a couple of weeks ago. It's been hard on you and you've had some behavior issues both at home and at Primrose. But we've had some long talks and I hope you're figuring out how to process it better. You were already sad that a couple of school friends were moving away and loss/change isn't really your forte.
But you are getting older, taller, smarter, sassier, etc. So I'm sure you'll come out the other side as fantastic as ever.
I feel like our lives are a little lather, rinse, repeat at the moment, so I'm not sure what else to note here other than a few favorites:
Best Friends: Adelaide Lundie, Scarlett Stephenson, Ruhi...not sure of her last name
Favorite Show: Liv and Maddie
Favorite Food: Bacon!
Planned Profession: Fashion Designer
Oh! One more thing, we dyed your hair again this summer. It was supposed to be ombre from pink to purple to blue, but the pink is the only one that really took since we didn't bleach it first. But it was fierce and you rocked it!
I love you, kiddo.
Love always, Mama
