Little Lady

While we still don't have big events happening that are worth writing about, I thought I'd tell you about a bit of a shift in your mindset. Over the past year, you've definitely started thinking about yourself in a different way. You aren't as interested in playing with your neighborhood friends since the girls are a little younger, which is sad, but understandable.

We've been slowly but surely redecorating your room. When fifth grade started with you schooling from home due to Covid, we had our neighbors (Stephanie and Tony Reynaga) build you a desk. You and I designed it and, if I do say so myself, it's perfect! We were able to create something that fit the exact space, included bookshelves (because come on, you obviously need more places for books!) and you found a cool sticker type application that makes the top look like marble (your fave design pattern of the moment). You also found a super fuzzy pink swivel, rolly chair that was clearly made for you. Needless to say, the Frozen décor is out.

You've been on your phone a lot. A constant source of strife. It's hard because you're limited in how and when you can see your friends until everyone is vaccinated, but there are many studies that show it's really bad for kids to be on devices all the time. And I 100% see a difference in your attitude when you're on too much. Right now, besides chatting with your friends, your favorites are Among Us, Adopt Me and Royal High.

I guess that's about it for now. I did just get a text that my second Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine is still on for tomorrow (surprising given that I know they had to pause for all the craptastic weather last week). But it's good news that we might actually get to travel sometime in the semi-near future if they're still on a path to create herd immunity. Now that Biden is president, it's actually a priority to take care of the people instead of brag about how he's the greatest (our last president, he who shall not be named did jack squat to end the pandemic and now our country has the highest death toll BY FAR, so I'm pleased with the new approach).

Alright kiddo, I love you. I hope these posts are somewhat interesting to you, at least remembering what you were into at certain points in your life.

Love, Ma
