Not the best week ever

Well, this has been a roller coaster of a week, that's for sure. On Monday I was so excited working on my book when I checked my email to find out that Advito isn't bringing me back. It sucks because I loved that job. It's the first time I've felt like I was paid what I'm worth and I enjoyed my team and had negotiated good vacation time from the start. So needless to say, I'm disappointed and feeling defeated since looking for a job in this environment is NO BUENO. But financially I have to have one or we can't keep living where we are.

On the other hand, I'm making progress on my book. If someday you look back on this and are like "oh yeah, that's where my famous author mom started," I'll be a happy lady. The truth is, it's a very competitive market. About 1 million books per year get published. But you know what? There are famous authors and I think my book is good, so who knows. I'm going to read it to you this weekend and get your take. You've read part of it, but not all of it yet. I just got it back from my editor and she said she loved it and wants to read book 2. So I need you and Da to read it and help me come up with a concept for book 2. Haha!

Back to the downhill part of the coaster, you've had a little trouble at school. We got a call from your teacher today, but honestly I'm not sure what the issue is, even after talking to her for almost half an hour. She said you're slipping in math, and that's a problem because it already isn't your favorite. But it sounds like for the most part you're just slow getting from place to place or activity to activity. Which I get. I have that issue with you here at home too. I think you have the opposite of ADHD (which I told her) and you just get so into whatever you're doing, it's hard to shift your mind to something else. This year is such a clown house anyway: you're still wearing masks, you're still carrying around dividers that you have to use in each class and lunch. It's no wonder you hoard any second you get interacting with your friends. We're coming up on Spring Break, so we'll work on it.

I forgot to mention, but we're on book 7 of Harry Potter for I think the third time reading the entire series.

Also, you got this cute outfit. :) I love you my sassy little girl. Mon cheri.
